As such, the Dominicans played a pivotal role in popularizing the rosary and formulating the prayers and structure that added depth to its recitation.
The Holy Rosary, as a sacramental*, is considered a powerful tool for prayer and meditation, drawing individuals closer to God and fostering spiritual growth. It is believed to provide protection against evil and is highly regarded for its ability to invoke God's grace and strength.
What is a sacramental*?
Water, rosaries, crucifixes, medals and candles become sacramentals through a blessing given by a priest, which dedicates them for holy purposes and allows them to convey God's grace and blessings. Without this blessing, they do not hold the spiritual benefits associated with sacramentals. Sacramentals play an important role in the spiritual life of Catholics, enhancing their relationship with God and the Church. (A sacramental is a sacred object and at the end of its use it is to be buried in the ground or burnt.)

There is no specific number of official miracles attributed to the recitation of the Rosary, but many testimonies and historical accounts highlight numerous miraculous events associated with its prayer. The Rosary is regarded as one of the most powerful devotions in the Catholic Church, often linked to miraculous outcomes in various situations.
The most significant miracle attributed to the Rosary was the historical event of the victory at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, where Christian forces, outnumbered by the Ottoman fleet, St. Pope Pius V, called upon all of Europe to pray the Rosary for victory. Pope Pius V instituted “Our Lady of Victory” as an annual feast in thanksgiving for Mary’s patronage in the victory.

Among the Catholic youths of today who are inclined to use apps may find it a more convenient alternative when physical beads are considered “old fashioned” or are not available. Many Apps offer audio versions, illustrations, and guided prayers, which can enrich the prayer experience.
Both methods can enhance one's prayer experience and spiritual connection, depending on individual circumstances. But bear in mind apps are not sacramentals.
